What is MOPS?
… not just another playgroup
(Mothers of PreSchoolers) MOPS is an international non-profit organization providing small groups designed to support and encourage mothers of children preschool age and younger.
MOPS exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.
A MOPS group is a place for moms to share joys and struggles and to learn practical ways to raise our children and care for ourselves as God intended. Together we address issues and needs of women and our families covering a wide range of topics.
What do we do?
We begin with refreshments and fellowship, followed by the introduction of a topic of the week. After our speaker presentation we include time for small group discussion, sharing, support and prayer. Topics include, but are not limited to, parenting skills, enriching relationships (spouse, family, world, God), family values, etc. To keep it light-hearted we have fun days – such as guest speakers, crafts, and holiday projects. We also coordinate community projects – such as reaching out to teenage moms at a transitional living facility, or other community outreach projects. We have also done book studies.
Who can join?
MOPS is open to all women, regardless of church affiliation.
