Globally, United Methodist Women (UMW) is a one-million member organization, the purpose of which is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice. Members raise more than $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.
Our purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Locally, Wesley’s UMW is a vital, energetic organization where friendships are made and support is given. Our projects help to support many local and world-wide missions. Examples of these missions include funding camperships for Wesley youth, supporting the global ministries of the United Methodist Church, and promoting the following organizations: Florence House, YOU, Inc., Heifer Project International, and Cooper Community.
Our local unit consists of four circles, each of which typically meet on the third Thursday of each month: Dorcas Circle, Rebecca Circle, Sarah Circle and Priscilla Circle.
A welcoming hand is reaching out to all women who would like to become members.
